Quality Principles workshop at Palazzo Chigi

On January 21st, the siege of the Italian Prime Minister’s Office “Palazzo Chigi” hosted a workshop on the “Quality Principles” that will guide the implementation of the field trials.  


The meeting – chaired by Raffaele De Cicco, Director of the National Civic Service and led by Phil Hanks and Phil Hudson of VSO – was participated in by 15 representatives of the organizations that take part in the experimentation : Acli, AMESCI, CESC Project/OPES Italia, FOCSIV, Provincia di Foggia.

Participation and motivation to collaborate in the identification of good practices to promote social inclusion was very high. The exchange of views among partners was facilitated by the assistance of simultaneous translation provided by the Prime Minister’s Office. 

The Italian call for volunteers

On February 10th, Italy published the special call for the selection of the 50 IVO volunteers. Applications shall be submitted to the sending organizations within March 9th.

The Italian field trial in numbers:
Young people from 18 to 28 years of age may apply to 5 projects, implemented in 7 European hosting countries, distributed in 10 different locations where they will serve for 4 months. 

Placement abroad will be preceded by 6 weeks of general, specific and language training and followed by 2 weeks of debriefing.
